There are a lot of beautiful homes in Los Angeles, but not many that are actually hip. Consider this Pacific Palisades cabin in the woods as an example of the latter.
The property lacks the credentials of a well-known architect because it was constructed in 1959 and has been owned by the same person for a long time. Undoubtedly, the layout is strange, some of the portions don’t make sense, and the gardens are only slenderly wild and tame. However, once everything is understood, it becomes evident that the house is simply amazing.
In January, hundreds of people discovered precisely that. When the 93-year-old owner of the house passed away, a popular estate sale was held, and a line to enter the midcentury paradise snaked across the yard and all the way down the incredibly long driveway.
Shortly after the estate sale finished, the odd property was unexpectedly put up for sale. The property drew a sizable pool of prospective buyers and ultimately sold for $4.3 million, which was $400,000 above the asking price. Records show that Bella Poarch, a 26-year-old singer and dancer who has recently dominated social media, won the auction.
Poarch’s rise to fame and money appeared unlikely. She was born into poverty in the Philippines and was adopted as a small child by a military serviceman and his wife who were rumored to be abusive.
Poarch entered the country at the age of 14 and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Fresno. He then served three years in the Navy. She met Tyler Poarch at that time, but their first marriage had just ended in divorce.
In 2020, Poarch launched herself to global fame by posting videos of herself singing and dancing on TikTok. Her account is currently in third place overall on the app, behind only comedian Khaby Lame and actress Charli D’Amelio, with 92 million followers. And the most watched video ever on TikTok is a 10-second clip of Poarch lip-syncing.
Regarding Poarch’s strange new dwellings, the structure is hidden from view in the Palisades foothills by invisible gates. Stained glass windows in the modern building with wood siding lead to a lobby.
A living room with a fireplace is in front of you, and it leads to a smaller sitting space with a fireplace and a view of the backyard. Immediately to the left of the entrance, the dining space connects to the kitchen and features gorgeous granite but obsolete appliances.
Despite the absence of a separate powder room, the main house still features two modest guest bedrooms that share a complete bathroom.
Two walk-in closets, a fireplace, a reading nook with wood paneling, and a bathroom with green mosaic tile are all features of the master bedroom, which is in a separate wing. On the other side of the house is a large bedroom with an ensuite laundry room, which might be used for a live-in housekeeper.
More than 800 different types of plants and trees are claimed to be present on the estate, which is larger than half an acre. There are various outdoor seating areas, numerous sculptures, flowing fountains, overgrown walks, and other relaxing features. The lagoon-style pool is spanned by a bridge with Japanese design elements.
A Japanese-style tea house with its own full bathroom, study, and private balcony with peek-a-boo ocean views is also located at the far back of the property and is only accessible via a protracted uphill path.
In a stunning turn of events, the TikTok Superstar’s meteoric rise culminated in the purchase of a breathtaking oasis. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil waters, this enchanted haven became a sanctuary for creativity and inspiration.
As their fame continued to soar, the TikTok Superstar found solace in their private paradise, sharing its beauty with the world, one TikTok video at a time.
