Following the signing of a new, record-breaking contract extension worth $72 million last summer, DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf has begun the search for a home.
The highly paid Seahawks wide receiver continues to live in Seattle, where he already has a mansion, but the 25-year-old has increased his real estate holdings by acquiring homes in his native Mississippi and Los Angeles, spending a combined total of nearly $7 million on vacation properties.
Metcalf has made a $5.4 million house purchase in the fabled Bird Streets, one of Los Angeles’ most expensive neighborhoods. The Michael Palumbo-designed, wood-clad house, which was built in 1954 and has recently undergone a total renovation, manages to compress three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms into just under 3,000 square feet of opulent living space.
Moreover, Metcalf is still the owner of a recently built Craftsman-style home in Sammarish, a city about 15 miles east of Seattle, in Washington State.
The Bird Streets complex features a tiny plunge pool, amazing views of the Los Angeles city basin, and terraces for dining and socializing al fresco. In addition to the two-car attached garage, there is additional off-street parking available for an additional four vehicles. Additional noteworthy features include the sophisticated Control4 security system, Miele appliances, and recessed LED lighting throughout. The main bedroom of the house takes up the entire second story, while the two guest bedrooms are located on the first.
Near his hometown of Oxford, Mississippi, in the small rural hamlet of Taylor, Metcalf bought a 15-acre estate. Unknown, but the previous listing for the equestrian-friendly property had a price of $1.4 million. Among its other features are a 5,000 square foot mansion of an unidentified architectural style, a 6-stall horse stable, a riding arena, two ponds, and a 40-foot swimming pool.
The 2008-built, 15-acre estate in Mississippi (below) contains the aforementioned barn, storage space, and riding arenas in addition to the main house’s gourmet kitchen, granite countertops, and two tankless water heaters.
